Kenny is South Park's most famous character opposed to Cartman being most popular.
People that have never seen South Park will still know that Kenny is the-one-that-always-dies. They also know that Kenny mumbles and talks dirty.
Once Stan's uncle, Jimbo, called Kenny a "Dirty Little Bastard" and his lines in the Theme Song are usually pretty dirty, so I guess it fits.
When the Creators decided to "kill Kenny for good", the Fans became outraged and eventually he returned to die again. ( 8 times, most recently #1314 )

There have been 195 episodes, as of Nov. 18, 2009. Kenny has lived in 112 episodes and died in 83.
